I got the bags because I didn't know what I wanted and they were cheap. I chose yellow because I wanted it to stand out and people could see me a little bit better. I think it worked fine. I bought a rack off eBay to keep the bags off the tires. The luggage rack is located on both sides of the back of the bike. I don't know if they will be retracted or not. I have a feeling you need a porter. The bike is a 2020 Royal Enfield Himalayan. I rode them in the rain all day and none of the contents got wet. I was off-roading yesterday and fell sideways into a foot deep pond so the bag was completely submerged and I didn't flip it a few times to make sure it was closed and sealed and only a few cups of water got in . in. I was a little worried about exhaust gas heating on the Himalayas. As long as it's four or five inches above the exhaust pipe, it's fine. On a recent trip I'm trying to use a heat shield and that works well too. The bag setup is flexible enough to be removed from the exhaust and still placed properly on the bike. They are great, when full you don't even notice. I've traveled about 8000 miles with bags. When attaching the bags to the rack I pulled quite hard on the straps which pulled the seams a bit but they still held. I don't think you need to pull that hard. If you look at the picture you can see that my tent and sleeping pad are strapped back to the pockets, maybe I'll tighten the straps a bit too. You can't remove the back seat in the Himalayas with a bag there, but that would apply to any set of bags I think. It takes me about 5 minutes to open the pockets from the counter so I can take all the travel pants with me, to a hotel for example. It doesn't really matter, especially for the price. I've ridden these bags off-road a few times, crashed into trees, thrown my bike on the road or in the woods, and they haven't punctured them yet, so I'm very impressed. I almost always leave them on my bike. If you don't overstuff them, they're easy to cap. If you overstuff them like me, you might want to try a bit to fold them in completely as intended, but I've found that they remain watertight nonetheless. They pretty much do whatever they say. If you are looking for a waterproof bag at a good price, this is a good choice. enjoy the trip
