Only last 2 weeks good for USB cables

I was so excited I found a very long cable at a reasonable price to get from my laptop to my printer. Well it only worked for 2 weeks! Then one day, nothing. Suddenly, my work laptop stopped recognizing the cable like those cheap phone charger USB cables do after a while. So buyers beware!
