I was looking for a beach backpack that would keep drinks/food cold but allow me to carry other items without the need for another bag. I like having my hands free to either just carry my son's sand toys or to hold his hands when we cross the street etc. So with this bag I finally have my son on for the first time since the start of Covid brought to the beach! On the plus side, the bag is really comfortable to carry, even if you have two large bottles of water, small snacks, fruit, a couple of McD burgers, and towels tied at the back, which made it a bit unwieldy. It keeps food cold with an ice pack and even when my son spilled water in the bag it didn't leak. The top compartment offered enough space for keys, sunscreen and a phone. I store sanitizer and baby wipes in a side mesh pocket for easy access. Cons: I think the price isn't as friendly as I'd like, but I definitely think this is a quality bag that will last. So I think for the comfort it offers it's worth it. Not sure if it is designed to carry food for 4-5 people. But then again, we didn't use it as a picnic backpack, so maybe it's enough if you're just carrying food. By the way, the bag is definitely long enough that you can carry bottles of wine or 2 liter soda bottles, maybe 4 bottles of wine or 2 2 liter soda bottles, and you still have space for small snacks. But I reckon it's going to be a very heavy backpack and I wouldn't want to carry it even if the straps on this bag don't dig into your shoulder. In general I am satisfied with the purchase and we take it. with us this week on another outing. By the way, plates and cutlery are not included.
