I love Japanese dress designs and was so excited to finally see the volume printed in English. These dresses are very cute and the patterns are quite simple, although they do require some sewing skills. I would recommend finding out your actual dress size before attempting anything from this book. The "one size fits all” assumption simply doesn’t work here. I'm 5" 2" 105 lbs (US size 2-4) so the Japanese medium size usually works well for me. These patterns are suitable for a medium sized miniature American (6-8 miniature). Also, the shapes are really very geometric. and not in the least tight fitting. With some knowledge of changing patterns, you should be able to put this book to work for you. I love modern design ideas and will probably try about 5 of these dresses.
