Cute design ideas, one size fits all

I love Japanese dress designs and was so excited to finally see the volume printed in English. These dresses are very cute and the patterns are quite simple, although they do require some sewing skills. I would recommend finding out your actual dress size before attempting anything from this book. The "one size fits all” assumption simply doesn’t work here. I'm 5" 2" 105 lbs (US size 2-4) so the Japanese medium size usually works well for me. These patterns are suitable for a medium sized…

Make them yours!

I was so excited about this book and it does what I expected. The patterns are so simple and easy to use that it will be very easy to make them your size no matter how tall I am and plan to make some of these for my 12 year old daughter without having to play around with complex math and evaluation is real, it's about understanding how you fit your body or someone else's body. I keep seeing people refer to these dresses as "bags" but the patterns are actually recommendations! Play with them…

Great book to personalize with simple dresses!

I already had the Japanese version of this book, but I have to admit I really wanted an English translation (especially the sample charts, as I'm not a native "metric" speaker!). Dresses have a simple shape and consist of very simple pattern parts. This is good because they allow for relatively easy sizing (so don't be intimidated by the range of sizes in the book) and are great for personalizing clothing.
