I love Japanese dress designs and was so excited to finally see the volume printed in English. I was so excited about this book and it does what I expected. The patterns are so simple and easy to use that it will be very easy to make them your size no matter how tall I am and plan to make some of these for my 12 year old daughter without having to play around with complex math and evaluation is real, it's about understanding how you fit your body or someone else's body. I already had the Japanese version of this book, but I have to admit I really wanted an English translation (especially the sample charts, as I'm not a native "metric" speaker!). Dresses have a simple shape and consist of very simple pattern parts. This is good because they allow for relatively easy sizing (so don't be intimidated by the range of sizes in the book) and are great for personalizing clothing.
