Review on ๐Ÿ“บ RCA ANT111E Non-Amplified Indoor Digital TV Antenna, Black - 40-Mile Range by Greg Lockhart

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Suitable for local stations. With some modifications you can get a few more channels

If you are within 15 miles of a transmitting antenna this may be good enough be for a proper reception. One of the downsides of this antenna is that bunny ears have a limited outward angle of waves, which can prevent you from setting the optimal angle that would help you tune into secondary channels. I solved this problem by using a dremel to remove the plastic on the outside edge of the holes where the rods come out of the base. Here are the right steps to greatly improve the angular range of your antenna rods. First place the antenna rods in the center position and then remove the rods by unscrewing them. Then, using a dremel with a small whetstone, sand down the plastic from the outside edge of the two holes where the antenna shaft comes out of the base. Then put the two rods back in place. This will now allow you to tilt the bars almost flat. As a result, I can now receive multiple feeds that used to be pixelated and not visible. YMMV. Make any changes to the antenna at your own risk.

Pros
  • Dipoles pop up and tune in to digital and analog channels 2-13
Cons
  • Hard to remember but it was

The internal circuit is terrible, but otherwise it's OK
