Review on Men's Athletic Shoes: New Balance 900V1 Fresh Walking by Joshua Morales

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good concept but poor build quality.

I was looking for a pair of 10.5 x walking or cross training shoes and everything I found at Revain, Zappos and Foot Locker didn't fit me after I put in an orthotic other than this one . At first I didn't like the concept of the slippers but it caught on quickly and now I love the concept. I ordered slippers 10.5x wide but they fit snugly on the standard insole and became too tight after replacing the insoles. The 11X width wasn't tight with the standard insole, but it was with my orthotic. In both sizes, my heel came off the shoe when walking like it was on slippers. I kept 11 which may be a mistake. Fast forward to today where the shoe was worn for about 4 hours and no longer fits properly. I can walk normally in them, although sometimes there is minimal slippage where the heel can be right over the heel of the boot. I would not walk or step in it because my boot will surely fly off my foot. I'm deducting two points because the shoe stretches so quickly with less than 4 hours of use. The advantages are that the material inside is very comfortable when worn barefoot. As a casual hiking shoe, they fit me these days, but the loose fit makes them unreliable. If the material relaxes more, it is unusable.

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
