After extensive research in search of the perfect clock radio I've come to the conclusion that manufacturers treat it as a cheap item and it's hard to find one that you can buy as a "high" would denote quality". But it's a very good option compared to the competition and I think it's the best available. I believe the important things for clock radios are: 1) Reliability. I live in California, where a Losing power while you sleep is a very real possibility. The t618t has a battery backup so it will keep working even if the power goes out. Other clock radios have a battery backup but this one also has a warning so you know when the batteries are low This is a great feature, how else do you know if the batteries are working when the power goes out? htung Probably the biggest complaint about clock radios is that the display is so bright it keeps me awake. The t618t has a very good display: backlit LCD. It's much better than traditional LEDs as it can read a setting during the day and dim it enough to keep you asleep. And the brightness controls have excellent range 3) Alarm flexibility With three CD/radio/nature sound alarms, each of which can be set independently, you've got all the alarms you need, including the ability to set them for each day, the week, or the end weeks. I've read complaints that each of the alert types can only be set once, but I think that's correct because allowing multiple times for each alert type would make the UI much more complicated. I've also read that some nature sounds are annoying. I also think this is a false criticism. The two nature sounds are very soothing and suitable for falling asleep. Two nature sounds, still peaceful, a bit rougher, with birdsong and crickets, perfect for waking up! But it's not perfect: 1) The CD player is a bit noisy and light. This makes it unsuitable for sleeping. Therefore there is no sleep timer for the CD. Use the radio or nature sounds to help you fall asleep. 2) The alarm clock does not have a "volume increase step by step" function. But with other clock radios that have this feature, people complain that it rises too fast or too slow. If you need a special alarm clock, the easiest way is to create your own CD of what you want to wake up to. 3) The sound quality is not very good. But it's actually a clock radio, not a home theater system. All in all the best clock radio theme you can find.
