I used this short USB cable between a 2A charger and my old Galaxy S 4 phone. Using the 4ft cable that came with the charger allowed the phone only 420mA, but with this short cable allowed fast charging of 1500mA. This is because the phone detects the voltage drop in the cable and limits the current when the cable is not suitable for fast charging.
