These balls were inexpensive, but they never completely eliminate the need for detergent as they don't remove stains and don't seem to do much. I understand the theory behind this which is why I bought them to see for myself how well they would work. I'm not sure how well they clean, but they seem to do their job well. The advertisement that says you can refuse detergent is just a lie, so you should look at it with your eyes wide open. The product itself does not claim this. Maybe it's the people who sell it.
