I like light to medium weight comforters and quilts that can be layered for maximum comfort. I also had two wonderful whippets last summer - following the death of my beloved German Shepherd - and there's nothing a whippet loves more than burrowing under a blanket or blanket. In fact, this beautiful blanket never got past my sofa where I opened the box. As soon as I opened it up for a good look, both dogs immediately dived under it. So I hung it on my lap and read while my two boys did the other thing, which is what the legends of the Whipps are about (the first is running very fast, the second is sleeping). As I neared the end of two very good books, everyone was having a great time. Seriously, while this would work great on my bed, I'm seriously considering making this our couch blanket. The problem I have is that they are not easy to accommodate me and my two puppies. A duvet twice the size of a plaid seems like the perfect solution. If you're looking for a lightweight duvet, I definitely recommend it. If you're looking for a thick blanket that's enough to keep you warm on your own, you might want to look for a heavier item. However, as part of a set of layers, this works fine. Mine could climb into my bed if I could get my whippets to leave her.
