razor with a learning curve

This knife is razor sharp out of the box, which is how it should be. For the price I'm very happy with this blade. Unless you're used to a round knife, there is a bit of a learning curve (yes pun intended). I found out quickly that this knife excels when dealing with the heavier weight leather.

Pros
  • The knife is great but the larger one is best.
Cons
  • It may not be suitable for left-handed individuals due to its design

True quality - my new review

I was really torn whether to purchase this knife over the Tandy round knife. What was the final decision maker was seeing that this knife is made from high carbon steel as opposed to Tandy’s stainless steel. I couldn’t be happier. The blade comes so sharp I’m surprised it didn’t cut itself out of the package before delivery. I’ve cut probably 200 yards of 6-10oz veg tan and it’s edge is still samurai sword sharp. If you can’t decide on a knife let this be the back breaking straw.

Pros
  • Leathercraft
Cons
  • The price may be too high compared to similar products on the market

Beautiful knife: my feedback

This set is perfect. It's made nice and is high quality. It's easy to grip and doesn't hurt or bother my hands at all. It's sharp so be careful. It's easy to use. A must have for every knife lover to improve your selection

Pros
  • COMFORTABLE HANDLE AND EASY TO USE : The shape of the blade allows you to cut the leather skin in the usual way, and "roll". Comfortable handle to give you a simple and safe grip so you can work faster with full control
Cons
  • The knife may be too specialized for those who only dabble in leatherworking

Seems great best in my review

Haven’t used it much yet but out of the box it was sharp enough to skive with. Did a bit of honing on it and it cuts and slices better than all my other knives that were twice the price

Pros
  • I'm currently making a leather sheath for it.
Cons
  • The weight of the knife may make it tiring to use for long periods of time

I like this because it is quite sharp out of the box, and with some stropping is very usable. The blade edge does have somewhat of a serration to it, which I hope I can strop to be completely smooth over time. There's a brass ring that I think is supposed to reinforce the handle to the blade, which was not secured at all. I'll try and epoxy it on.

Pros
  • Well made and cuts great, very sharp.
Cons
  • The round head may make it difficult to cut straight lines or detailed designs

Quality product - my new review

Hopefully it will hold an edge for a long time before needing sharpened but only time will tell about that. It's kinda dangerous to leave laying around with the blade exposed so I'm going to be making a sheath to store it in.

Pros
  • VERY sharp, nice handle
Cons
  • The wooden handle could become slippery when exposed to moisture or sweat

Quality Blade in my review

The knife is excellent right out of the box, it comes sharp and glides through leather and fingers with ease. As with all cutting tools, cut away from yourself and your digits.

Pros
  • ‎Wood
Cons
  • The large size may make it difficult to store or transport

Sharp but badly constructed

The head knife showed up sharp and lovely, however after 3 uses the blade loosened and the brass ring popped off. Then the blade slipped its handle nearly cutting my hand and fingers as well as ruininga leather piecei was workingon. What i noticed was that there was no epoxy or mechanical connection to secure the blade. I in good conscience cannot recommend this blade. Save your money and get a better head knife.

Pros
  • Look of quality.
Cons
  • The blade may dull quickly and require frequent sharpening
