Our spaetzle maker arrived this afternoon and we were pleasantly surprised with the quality and thoughtful design. A nice feature is the ribbed tongue that sticks out of the front of the spaetzle maker like a finger, hanging over the rim of your boiling water and providing grip when you squeeze the handle. The product is made by Westmark in Germany, has an easy-to-remove hinge pin for easy cleaning, and the extrusion die is randomly patterned, resulting in spaetzles that look hand-made. The only gripe is that this product would be stronger if it was steel instead of aluminum: I have a feeling that if you drop this spaetzle maker on the floor the aluminum tongue or handles might break. In general, the product is good, the purchase is satisfied. Time for sauerkraut!
