If you plan to use this scanner for anything other than scanning a sheet of paper, I recommend using your trusty flatbed scanner. I've personally tried scanning book pages, magazine articles, and anything that had an image I wanted to capture. Can't get it to work. If my daughter tried it, no luck either. No customer service from iris unless you count the record and NOBODY answers your call!

Poorly put together manual. The usability of the device is far below existing standards. To top it off, they now want $65 for a software update, five weeks after purchase. You should be ashamed of yourself!

The big problem is that I could not find technical support for this product. The software was difficult to use and technical support is required for the scanner to work properly. I didn't have enough time to get this scanner working without tech support.

While the scanner and software are working. A tutorial video on how to get the most out of your scanner would be helpful. There is a learning curve to get good results. The scanner's design is not ideal for scanning the inside edge of a book. A narrower track would have helped, and larger rollers could have coded the path. Not quite what I expected , but it's a good option for items I can't use my feed scanner for. Unfortunately it needs a technique to avoid distorted scans and I still haven't mastered the technique, if you scan too fast it's not accurate to get an image, if you scan too slow you have more time, accidentally distorting the image because - for uneven scanning. First, the scanner glass does not reach to the edge, so scanning books with small margins is not possible. My paperbacks will barely make it to the page, if ever. Second, Wi-Fi isn't really Wi-Fi. It's a weird Bluetooth that connects over Wi-Fi. It would be better if they just did a Bluetooth connection. This will disable your internet and you will need to open a browser to access the files.
