Review on πŸ‘” Men's Shirts with Fitted Collar by Van Heusen, made with Poplin fabric by Francisco Garcia

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Looks like my $300 YSL shirts.

I had to buy one of these full size from the hotel gift shop (for $45) around 11pm as I had absolutely no shirts for a business event the next day. I then went back to my room and booked a tight landing on Amazon for it to arrive the next morning. Some have criticized it for being too thin and see-through, but that's perfectly normal for a poplin shirt, and you see it in ultra-high-end shirts like my Yves St. poplin shirt. Laurent (I'm talking about $300 for a shirt). Poplin is a very fine fabric and should appear silky smooth (compare with wool fabrics, oxford etc which are thickly woven and appear relatively coarse). It's more suited to summer wear and works especially well if you have to wear a suit all day. And yes, always wear them with a tank top (but if you want to be casual in the summer, without a tie and top button open, and you have a good figure, then I think you can just wear it without a tank top. That's how male models see it out). Anyway, I can see that I don't like the shirt. But I don't like it because it's too thin and see-through, it just doesn't correspond to reality. This is what he should do.2. But it's not quite perfect. The fit is a little too big so be sure to go snug (rather than regular) and possibly very skinny if that's the case. However, I have not seen what happens to them after 10 washes.3. Croy isn't super modern either. Although this is normal. It's like a regular cut that you might prefer if you don't want to look too stylish/dandy etc.4. For $20, it's a ridiculous deal.

Pros
  • Pointed collar: classic collar that elongates the face and allows for various knots; can be worn with or without a tie.
Cons
  • Security
