Preserved. The first impression is nice. It's well attached. I thought it might look like rose quartz, but it's more of a mottled white than that species. The pink pieces are clearer so you can see the pins through them, so I decided to remove them to reduce the size. I like the golden color. Just a hint of pink to it. My deluxe screen protector hides most of the tan gold on the landing part, so luckily you can't tell it's any different. The clasp opens and closes beautifully. The clips it attaches to the Fitbit feel and look snug. The tool they suggested worked better than my paper clip method for my last group. There are no instructions, so here's a rundown of what worked: Place the strap with the Fitbit-connected clips on top, bottom of the strap facing you, screw in the tool on the right. Then turn the pin to the left (press gently). I'll let you know when the metal starts to chip or something starts to fail.
