It's a waste of metal and doesn't deserve any attention

This device looks convincing in photos and in general: finally a tool that allows one person to firmly grip and unscrew the lid. This year I bought this and another instrument and both failed miserably as expected. I should have paid more attention to the size and some details and maybe, just maybe, I wouldn't spend money on it. bench grip. This is a jagged edge that can cut into the lid of a certain size plastic jar. I'm not exactly sure what it's supposed to work with. All I know is that it doesn't hold a lid I'm working with. I thought I saw a sufficiently wide rubber grip that, pressed against the round lid on both sides, hung down when the lid was released. It's not like this. The handle is unusable. Lock out. It's a handle that looks like it will snap and hold the handle while you then move the entire device counter-clockwise (or left). It doesn't block anything. It engages the serrated surface but does not remain engaged. You can't hold it down to hold the handle while trying to rotate the entire device. Instead, I was expecting more of a vise-like approach, allowing you to tighten and hold the handle in place. I thought I saw that in the photos. Actually it isn't. Length. I really wanted this for lids that are over a few inches in diameter. They are difficult to unravel. They must be at least twice the expected maximum can diameter to provide the leverage needed to unscrew the lid. The key to making these seals difficult to remove is leverage. This device is too small to fit anything other than the smallest caps. In short, this device should look like something that should work but fails miserably.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not sure
