It has its pros and cons. DETAILED REVIEW! Mostly cons.

I have been trying this for over a month with a blind dog who was having seizures. It got worse at night and he fell out of the human bed when he had a fit. I do have metal boxes but with the seizures I didn't want him to get into that situation and possibly get crippled in the bars. That was my decision. I have to say this works really well, I can stuff him with blankets, pillows and his bed (he's older and likes SOFT), leave the top open to test it out like a playpen or close it to give him a cave feel admit. And I don't have to worry about that if he has a seizure, if a foot or leg gets stuck or broken in the cage/mental cage bar. I can open the front or side to let him in and out whenever he wants and my other dog (although he has his own collapsible metal crate the same size) seems to enjoy just hanging around in it with the older one . He is a pug and the size I got was perfect. He has a place to lie or move. I would NOT recommend the size I have for a dog larger than a Pug, Vede, Boston Terrier etc if they are going to be in them for a while. Choose the next size up if you have a small Lab, Dalmatian, etc. , if you are only deployed for short-term accommodation (about an hour). And even a dog of this size will not be able to sit comfortably and will not have room for his head. What I don't like about it, hence the 3 stars, is the color choice, REF, REF, REF. Also the front or side zip is good and so far the zips seem solid and strong after long time use but there are small windows on the other two sides so if your dog likes a fan or you want your animals to be well ventilated Cage disrupts healthy airflow and affects where and how you can install it in your home. I give two stars for this frivolity in the design. But for SMALL DOG OWNERS (dogs under 25 pounds) the size I bought is fine, especially if they sleep in it all night or stay in it while you are at work. Can't comment on the cleaning, it's a canvas-like material, but I store so many blankets in it that nothing can get into the actual box. It is indicated that it can be washed, it is enough to remove it from the frame. I also have a DOG EPEN canvas handle and I can tell you that it takes a lot of lube and soap to keep it clean and it was NOT good (same material) so I'm not sure on that statement. It was easy to set up, out of the box, unplug it, waves. I would also like to say that if you have two or more dogs that are aggressive towards each other and need to be separated this will NOT work and I would not trust them if she can be left alone with one inside and one outside as a determined angry dog get rid of it. (or into). If you have a dog that is a crazy digger/scratcher this is not a good choice. And if you want to protect your dog when you travel, opt for metal crates as they don't offer enough protection, especially if you're packing other boxes or objects around them (e.g. when moving house). But for a QUIET or SICK dog that needs their own safe space and restraint, this works well enough, and for my needs it's fine. It is also suitable for a mother of small breeds and newborn puppies or a couple of cats (who do not have much space in the litter) or a small breed puppy with space for food, water and litter. (It says in the link for the size I bought) *I had to downgrade this to 1 star. I had to use it for a sick puppy. Let me tell you, if your dog gets sick, either from spills or from vomit finding its way around the blanket or changing pad, it's an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE to clean and VERY unsanitary, unlike crates. I had to throw mine away. WHAT A MONEY LOSS going back to wire boxes. PLUS it's been tagged a lot since I first bought mine. Double the discount for those of you who buy it now and double the price of a foldable metal box!

Pros
  • For pets up to 70 lbs
Cons
