Wow! Should have gotten this sooner! My husband has had Achilles tendon problems for a while. He went down the stairs wrong and the tendon was injured where it attaches to the heel bone. It was just unbearable for him to leave. We've tried shorter braces, ice, heat, ointments and more. I finally convinced him to try this walking wrap as it was obvious that the injury needed to be immobilized in order to heal. He didn't want to do it because he didn't think he would be able to do what he needed to do like work or whatever. The boy was wrong. From the first time he put the shoe on, the pain just WAS GONE. He could not believe it. He suffered so much and now something as simple as a cast is in place and the pain is gone. We have a roofing company and he's on the road all the time. This shoe didn't bother him at all. He said it was very easy and natural to walk in it. Coincidentally, his work boot on the other foot is perfect for this Aircast, but he's sporting a flattering outfit when wearing his casual shoes, sold separately. . It is necessary. This aircast comes with a nice long comfortable cast sock but I bought 2 more to wear with a clean one every day. This aircast is very durable. I'm amazed at how difficult it is because he's really going through a lot and it's still great. He's been wearing it all day for about 2 or 3 weeks now but takes it off as soon as he gets home and he feels a definite improvement in his heel pain even without the shoe so it's healing. I'm so glad he's no longer suffering from this injury. If he wears out on that aircast before he's fully healed, you can bet I'll buy another one. It's worth every penny.
