Revainrating 5 out of 5

Bought to listen to music (no comparison but love them)

I should probably start with this: I'm not a music lover so I really don't have anything to compare with the Beyerdynamic dt 770 80ohm headphones to go with it. In the meantime here are my thoughts. I specifically chose 80 ohm headphones so I can use them with my phone. They work great, I have to turn the volume up from medium to high on my phone but at full volume it's too loud. I know there have been mixed reviews about how well they work with phones, but they worked for me. AUDIO: They have a punchy bass, but it's not overwhelming. (It doesn't rock your brain with bass, but holds up well with EDM). I wanted something with delicious bass, and it fits. The mids are clean and the highs are crisp, maybe a bit overwhelming for my taste, but then again, my previous headphones were cheaper. I'm really impressed with the soundstage. (Note: Make sure they sit on your ears to ensure a tight seal. At first I was worried the right bank wasn't working properly, but it was a positioning issue and now I have no issues) I have one very broad tastes in music so I tried headphones with classical, EDM, country, chillstep, jazz, metal, rock, some hip hop and a selection of ethnic music. All around they put in a brilliant performance. Again, I'm no sound connoisseur yet, so just because I like how it sounds in most/all genres doesn't mean you will. Try them and see I guess. :) COMFORT: All reviews that they are really comfortable are no understatement. I could wear them all day and sleep in them (not recommended as you'll likely choke on the extra cord). They fit well and don't feel like they're going anywhere while I'm moving. My ears are starting to get warm in them, which I think is not bad for a North Dakota winter. I don't usually wear glasses, but sometimes I wear them when I'm at the computer for a long time. I prefer to wear these headphones without my glasses, but they were just as comfortable with glasses on. (My girlfriend wears glasses and she said they were comfortable too.) EDIT 8/11/20 (I come back 1.5 months later to add: The cups aren't very deep and my ears are rubbing on the inside. It's only really noticeable after like you're wearing them for more than 6 hours straight. Not really painful. More like a lot of irritation. Other than that, I'm still happy with the overall comfort.) NOISE: Well, it's not Sennheiser's active noise cancellation. Headphones. However, they block out background noise really well, and once you start playing music or watching a movie, you can't hear as much. My friend used it at almost full volume and was blown away that I couldn't hear the music she was listening to. AMENITIES: Nothing new to add here from other reviews. It seems really strong and durable. My only complaint, if I had one, is that the cord is too long for everyday use. They're not meant for everyday use, though, so I guess I took it upon myself. SET: I bought this set for a hard case. seemed like a good idea and I have no complaints about it. Headphones fit properly. The 6 foot aux extension is exactly what it says. I don't think I need to use it with headphones but it will be useful. Final Thoughts: This is exactly what I wanted. You might not like them if you are looking for something different. But for what they are, they are top notch.
