I have had these purses for many years but stopped buying them 2 years ago because I had one with a very strong chemical smell. The smell hasn't gone away even after airing it out for several months and I ended up throwing it away. I decided to give this wallet another try as many recent reviews fail to mention the smell. Spring. The new wallet I just received smells the same again, but less intense now. The smell is only present in the pockets and not in the entire wallet and the air around it. Why is this gas formation - it should not be. It should just be a thin piece of durable fabric. I have heavier ripstop pants than these that don't give off gas at all. I air it out for a week and throw it away if the smell doesn't go away.
