I bought this catapult as a small desktop "toy"; and was thrilled that it is actually fully functional and quite well made. While some of the tolerances aren't perfect, I feel like this only adds to the charm of the piece as a whole. It is made of cast iron, which gives it considerable weight and a beautiful but antique look. I've had many compliments as well as a few attempts at theft now that I have this on my desk. I might look for a similar item in the future as a gift for my colleagues to keep their paws off mine!
