Do you have a makeshift studio and need inexpensive instruments that still work exactly the way you want them to? Me too and that's why I bought it and it's perfect. It holds the mic in place and has a threaded adapter in case you have a thinner screw on the stand. I didn't need it because I was using a traditional/regular mic stand, but I have one when I need it. It also comes with additional stripes. Don't listen to bad reviews. The thing works great and costs a fraction of the price of a "high end" shock absorber. I used to have all the high end gear and recently got back into music as a hobby so I didn't want to spend as much as I used to. It literally works the same as the type of gear I've had before. At one point I thought, if it's not expensive, then it's crap. That's not always true, but in this case it is. That. Buy it. I'm using Audio Technica At2020 by the way. Fits perfectly. I use it for vocals and as an overhead mic. Don't think twice. Save money on the gear that really matters. Like a mic preamp. budget for these things.
