Review on Poetic Revolution Case For Motorola Moto G Stylus 5G (2022) Model #: XT2215, [6FT Mil-Grade Drop Tested], Full-Body Rugged Shockproof Protective Cover With Kickstand & Built-In-Screen Protector, Black by Lorena Grant

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A pretty decent case, with (mostly) well thought-out considerations

I was initially wary of getting this case, as there were a couple of reviews claiming that the cases' volume buttons do not align with those on the phone. Upon receiving it, this was fortunately a non-issue. Not perhaps the manufacturing tolerances are really that far out of whack, or maybe a batch of mis-molded lemons went out. but for the overwhelming amount of positive reviews for this case, I would say not to sweat it.The kickstand is simple and effective, but feels a bit flimsy compared to the overall quality of the case. In it's "stowed" position, there's a small-but noticeable amount of "play" where you can feel it shifting around slightly. May be worth trying to throw a small strip of electrical tape in there to provide friction and minimize dead space. It locks into it's unfolded position pretty rigidly, which makes for a ginger attempt and getting the thing closed flat.Hooking your finger through it for singlehanded stability (like one of the photos suggest) isn't exactly comfortable, either. It balances best with the ring finger through it, which takes a bit too much conscious effort to use and feels a bit uncomfortable. For these reasons, I think it falls short of a 5 star rating in terms of comfort. The screen protector, while handy, leaves a bit to be desired. Like other reviews mentioned, it can trap oils and other small dust particles pretty easily, and I imagine it wouldnt fare much better in rain. Additionally, the edges of the screen protector sit ever-so-slightly above the phone screen, making effective use of the stylus a bit frustrating.Fortunately, the case comes with an additional screen-less frame piece, making it simple to use an aftermarket screen protector that (perhaps) works a bit better with respect to all the qualities listed above. All in all, it's still a great case for the money; the form-factor isn't too gaudy, it feels rock-solid without adding too much bulk, and I really do appreciate the design for the fingerprint reader and stylus cutouts, as well as the port covers (even if they're a little stiff!). But given the shortcomings, I can't give it a perfect rating.

Pros
  • I love the color and look, of this case!
Cons
  • The built-in screen protector may not be of high quality and could affect the visibility and sensitivity of the touchscreen
