This was for me, a 5 foot adult with skinny calves. I ordered an XL to be on the safe side. I've worn tall uniform socks many times and while they've been a bit short at times, they've never been too tight. In fact they are mostly baggy in the calves while the foot sits normally (I wear size 7B shoes so you can understand how they fit). They are very long, longer than most women's socks. But I would say that caviar is more suitable for a girl 8-10 years old. Tall teenage girls with very thin calves can handle them very well. Hope that helps!
