When I received this large jar of non-toxic carpet cleaner, I really wanted a compact carpet cleaner. But no matter how hard I try, I can't find any storage space in my small apartment. Unlike closet, I have a lot of time, so I sat down on my 5' x 8' wool rug with a spray bottle of detergent mixed with water and the provided rag. By the way, the carpet is very pretty. I sprayed a small area of the carpet, then rubbed with my hands, then wiped with a rag (soaked in water). My wool rug is over two years old and it still pills. Manually applying the cleaning solution to the carpet resulted in many fibers curling up into small clumps that I could easily toss in the bin. I repeated this process on the entire mat. After drying overnight, the carpet not only looks better, it also feels better. The light areas of the pattern are lighter and do not fade, and the surface of the carpet is comfortable and clean. My cat practically lives on this carpet and I spend A LOT of time on the carpet myself, ironing, brushing, exercising, etc., so I'm happy about the non-toxic composition of the cleaning liquid. The carpet smells nice too, not citrusy just clean which I couldn't tell about the smell of the carpet before.
