Review on Mr Coffee 2 Quart Iced Maker by Jim Cronin

Non original: coffee, tea and espresso

This is such a disappointment. I've had an old Mr. Kaffee for about twenty years. I used it all the time and really liked it, but it started to smell like plastic. I didn't like this so I ordered a new TM75 model and didn't pay much attention to how it would perform. The old model had a larger water tank and the brewing (brewing) basket was on top of the kettle, rather than on the serving jug like the new model. My old model had a dial that could be closed to allow the basket to hold some hot water to get the most out of the tea bags. brewing process. When the tea was ready to be served, the knob was opened to add the stronger drink to the rest of the tea in the pot. The new model's brew basket sits on top of the jug and hot water flows right through it as there is no way to keep water in the basket for the brewing process. The last time I used the kettle (literally the last time) hot water went straight through and missed a few tea bags. Now I'm doing what the other reviewer said. Just boil some water and soak the sachets in it. Then pour hot strong moonshine on ice and add cold water to taste. I really regret buying this kettle. The instructions called for a full pitcher of ice per use, lots of tea bags, and removing the hot brew basket from the pitcher burned my fingers. It is inconvenient to keep a separate brew basket. (Honestly, who invented this thing?) Now I only use the pitcher to hold and serve old-fashioned iced tea. I think everything else goes in the trash can.
