These pretty lights are typically used for paintings but they can basically be used for anything. I used mine with photos of my daughter for a party. I printed out the 3x5 images and pasted them into the clips and it worked great. It uses 3A batteries which are not included and has an on/off switch. The lights were just the perfect brightness for a party and gave the photos a nice glow. Sometimes you have to bend them a certain way to keep the pictures straight, but other than that I think they're perfect. Everyone remarked how beautiful and unique they are. I think they are suitable for every occasion.
