It really matters
I've just bought a new expensive gaming PC and while I've read online that different HDMI cables don't really matter, my own experience says the opposite. The picture on the HDMI cable was very choppy at times and flickered. I don't have any of those problems with it and the graphics in my games look just as great as they should. Maybe my old cable is too old and this one is like any other in years, but I don't regret this purchase.
