SECOND UPDATE: Chromebook 15 purchased, same problems with this printer, printer works with iPhone and iPad but still having problems even when printing on the new Chromebook. I think HP has the best customer support, so we'll probably look at another brand after the holidays. UPDATE: This printer is a huge waste of money. The connection keeps dropping, a few months ago my Chromebook stopped printing entirely, but we were able to print from our iPhones, iPads and my husband's old computer. Now it won't print with any device. We have to turn off the device, reset all settings, set it up with Wi-Fi again, and then sometimes it prints, sometimes not until we turn it off or turn it off and start over. The power button works when needed, sometimes we have to turn it off to turn it off so we can start over. Now we just have a copier that just copies what we put on the glass itself, that's all. I am completely satisfied with Brother products and really hate their product help pages. It takes a long time to get what you are looking for. We will definitely use other brands for future printing needs. Invest your money in a more expensive brand/printer, I will. OLD REVIEW: This review relates to the "printing" portion of this model. I'm just trying to figure out what "scanning" is. Setting up a wireless network is VERY easy with iPhone/iPad. Both found the printer straight away and we were able to start printing straight away, it also worked on the older iPad. With our Mac Books, they had to set up the USB cable we had from our last printer once. Once we connected the USB cable to the MacBook, it was very easy to set up from there. Setting up my Acer Chromebook took a little more work and research. I googled how to get it to recognize the printer because it couldn't find a new one, but after reading a few suggestions I was able to connect to the printer with my Chromebook and print from it quickly. It comes with an installation disk but we only need it for my husband's old laptop, all our other devices connect without using it. It takes a bit of patience to set up and enter passwords and other information, it's not the touchscreen type and the cable could be a bit longer. The print quality is nice and crisp, it's fairly quiet and doesn't generate as much heat as our old Brother printer. We are very happy with this purchase so far. We also purchased a 3-year protection plan for just $7. I'm trying to figure out how to scan on a Chromebook and it doesn't seem to work on either of our laptops when we tried to scan to a file. We have 5 different laptops and the printer keeps saying "No PC to scan". I HAVE CONTACTED BROTHER AND THEY ONLY OFFER SUPPORT FOR "PRINTING" WITH GOOGLE CLOUD PRINT. This is one of the reasons we bought this printer. It seemed like it would be easy to use all the features with a Chromebook. Will update when we find out.
