Review on Oransi Max HEPA Air Purifier for Home with Mold, Dust, and Allergy Cleaning, Ideal for 600 Square Feet Coverage by Daniel Smith

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Beware of "Safe Ozone " air purifiers!

Bought air purifier due to chronic pet/dust allergy and sinusitis, recently diagnosed with COPD. So I read every single Revain review and learned TONS from the reviewers! It is extremely important that anyone purchasing an air purifier with lung problems (asthma, COPD, chronic bronchitis, emphasema) avoids like the plague any products that contain ionizers. Ionizers produce ozone (a pollutant!) which is particularly harmful to people with existing lung problems. "Safe ozone" does not exist! Ozone creates that weird smell that some reviewers are talking about, and it can also cause headaches for people who are sensitive to it. Encouraged by the very positive experience of another call to Oransi, I called to inquire about their Safe Ozone label. A very helpful and knowledgeable representative, Michelle, told me that the larger model I was looking to buy had a button on the front to turn off the ionizer! Hooray! Whatever brand or model you're looking for, make sure it either doesn't have an ionizer or has a "switch" so it can be easily turned off. My Oransi v-HEPA Max arrived from Revain in two days; it was easy to turn on; and it's ridiculously quiet, even at the highest fan setting. I am pleased! And since I already know that if I have a great customer support system (REAL PEOPLE! and not long "if this, press this" phone systems) I'm sure I will if I have questions in the future feel free to call her again. This warning about ionizers and ozone is so important when choosing products that I think I'll post this review under the Oransi v-HEPA Finn model as well; which I looked at first. Incidentally, ionizers can now be found in all kinds of products, such as hair dryers! So read the product specifications carefully.-alana
