WORKS WITH Samsung, no PC required.

I have a 50" Samsung Smart TV model UN50J5201AFXZA, no PC connected at all. Read all Samsung horror stories here, unfortunately after I bought it and it was on the way. Was ready to receive Super delivered I ticked me tried it anyway, plugged the usb receiver into the usb jack on the tv, went into the settings to set it up, noticed it already recognized it, touched the touchpad and a cursor appeared on the screen telling me allowed to navigate Went to web browser, typed in google search box, no problem, surfed the web for a while and posted on forums, still no problem, now app test: went to Netflix, it made me scroll with the touchpad , search opened nothing when I started typing BUT it allowed me to use the mouse to select letters from the pop-up on-screen keyboard, which is a million times easier than the Ve using the remote control. Now that I don't plan on typing around 30 page dissertation in apps, basically just using the search box and auto suggest what I'm looking for usually pops up after typing two letters and the touchpad does the typing of those two letters even 10 times easier than using the remote control without being able to type a word or two in the application search. The field is not a deal breaker. The web browser is where usage really shines. With just the remote control, the web browser is pretty much useless. Novelty. with keyboard, a functional and valuable addition to your Smart TV. So if you have a Samsung evaluate your own usage, get it for a web browser? Works perfectly. do you get it for apps doesn't have full functionality, but still better than the remote control. But it WORKS, no need to connect the computer. I can also use the Page Up/Page Down buttons to change channels on the TV. I'm sure I'll find more uses as I use it, I'll update this when I do.
