I actually ordered four of these based on looks and price. The bottom half of my house only has 7 foot ceilings and the previous owners installed multiple floor fans, all with exposed lighting. I hate open lights and at 5'11 I don't like lower bars on low ceilings. There must be room for a motor etc but I can get under it! I have a good gap of a few inches which is a huge relief from the old ones. Also, I didn't realize how hard it was to pull the chains on some ceiling fans until we replaced them last year; These are smooth and properly placed so there is no problem. So far I've installed three: two in the common room and one in the bedroom. install, they all work great and they are all very secure. I didn't think I would find a Dark Metal fan at this price point and I'm just really happy with the purchase.
