Review on πŸ”§ FD07R1 Brushless Lithium-Ion Driver Drill by Makita by Chris Sanders

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Well designed and well made tool and case.

Purchased for screwing in tight spaces. I kept getting in the way of my floor and stair construction project with my old-fashioned 18-volt DeWalt drill that could drive 3/8-inch anchor bolts into arch poles. This drill has more than enough power. to turn every screw you come across and can drill holes with the best. It's light and short and surprisingly powerful for a 12v tool. Short and light is good if you are sitting on the floor and installing an oak baseboard or climbing the stairs to install panels or any other time. The only downside for me is that it's very bright LED light casts a shadow on the target of the drill or screw. In a dark corner, however, it's possible to notice the target before you start drilling or screwing while the entire tool is tilted away from the target. Hold the screw or insert the drill, reinsert the tool and drill or screw in the dark. Not missed yet. I look forward to using this well-made tool for a long time. The carrying case has space for a drill, batteries, charger and a few bits. All Makita cases appear to be well designed and solidly built, with secure locks. I really appreciate the sturdy and compact carrying case and this one is definitely impressive. This is my first lithium ion tool and I am very impressed with its performance, long life and light weight. With a charger and an extra battery if a battery loses its charge (which you can see from the built in charge indicator) the user should never be held up by a dead battery. I am very satisfied with this tool set.
