My little one learned to walk in the summer when she was barefoot, when it was time to go to different places and put on shoes for the first time she HATED them. Screaming, crying, it seemed like we were torturing them. I suspect that she is sensitive and was also afraid that she would not be able to move as well in shoes. We put them on her and she walked like a dog when you put shoes on and then she fell down screaming. This is the first shoe she has ever worn! We would go to the playground and I would let her play barefoot for a bit and then when she felt comfortable I would put these shoes on and she just kept walking! Pretty soon they outgrew them and we switched to Striderite Srtech but my goodness they were invaluable as a first shoe!
