If you have a 2006 Toyota RAV4 you will not be able to program this key yourself. You can program it to unlock your car's doors, but you'll need to go to a Toyota locksmith or dealership to program it. Otherwise, you'll find yourself removing the chip from your old key that's about to fall apart, supergluing it to the outside of the fob, and waiting for the red light to stop flashing before turning on the ignition. I'm sure this will save you money in the long run, but don't make the mistake of thinking you can program this all by yourself unless you're a locksmith, don't have a locksmith pal, or work for Toyota.
