Cute but just not for us

I originally bought this set because my daughter loved making imaginary treats (using real food) with pans and utensils for Barbie doll. She mixed things like flour and water, microwaved them until they hardened, and then decorated them. With this set I thought how much fun she can make really tiny foods that we can actually eat! And while yes, that's true, it's not as great as I expected. I think I thought "small" also meant "quick and easy". In the very first recipe, we baked a tiny plate of food for 20 minutes. The ingredients puffed up so we lost half of it and when we tried to cut it it turned into a crumbly mass. (I tried the same recipe again and measured carefully! and the same thing happened.) Small measuring spoons, while adorable, become very tedious when you need 6-10 small measuring spoons per ingredient. And when the recipe turns out to be delicious, there's just one small bite for all your hard, dirty work. While I appreciate the appeal of this set and the science/learning involved, I just don't think it's worth the time or energy put into it.
