Bought these to freeze baby food puree so the small cells are actually a good thing. I figured I could add defrosting in small portions to each puree as needed. They were difficult to clean at first because I wanted to clean them really well, but nothing stuck to the sides after that so a quick rinse was fine. I doubt how long the ice cream will last since they are already small, but they will be nicely shaped. The tray was actually pretty sturdy and didn't flex no matter how full it was. The only thing I didn't really like was the upper which is very thin and looks big. I have another square silicone shell and top clamps, I guess they can't because of the odd shape. In general a good buy.
