I've had this hat for 5 years now with no problems but I'm just starting to use the cape a lot. I used to find a sun cloak a bit ridiculous and often wore a hat without it. I have had one of these hats for over 5 years and have worn the cape sparingly. But having recently taken it with me on a 180 mile hike with a raincoat, I will definitely use it with a raincoat in the future. The skin on my face and neck looked very nice compared to my bare legs. I've noticed a few other cape hats on the market but I really like the suspender closure at the bottom. I'll admit I've seen some of these hats rip after prolonged use (travellers who have traveled 1300+ miles on a long trek) but I think something will break eventually. I'm more concerned about the snaps on the peak of the cap that secure the raincoat, as I've seen a few photos here where the snaps didn't work. I was careful not to experience it. Taking off and putting on a raincoat is quite a tricky business. I'd say this is the best design element that could be improved, although I'm not sure how to go about it.
