Winter torture trial in Detroit, Michigan.

Update: 07/30/2017 Apparently the manufacturer reads the reviews. I have received numerous emails from them asking them to replace and resolve the issue. MICHIGAN WINTER, in Detroit we use road salt that eats cars, I'm not kidding. After 1 winter of sitting my truck outside all winter this camera burned out completely BUT to my surprise it was REPLACED for FREE. So it won't make it through the Detroit winter BUT if you seal it somewhere against the weather it will do just fine. Another note worth mentioning, it's NEVER LEAKED. Doors "the size of a Chinese military vehicle" The camera is mounted just above the rear license plate. I routed the included wiring the full length of the truck along the frame, following the factory wiring, through the firewall, and into the dash-mounted screen "without" connecting any additional wires. "KUDOS". This time I smeared a layer of silicone. rubber on the camera and mount "yes i taped the lens first" to make sure there was no sealant on the lens, after it dried i removed the tape, now the only exposed part is the lens, the whole Camera body is tested by Detroit Michigan. If the CAMERA BODY was made out of anything other than cheap, chrome-plated plastic, it would effectively stand up to the elements. The mounting options are limited to a swivel bracket with 2 very small cheap metal screws. These screws are thrown out immediately, a high-quality camera housing is needed. Americans create products that last forever. Therefore, our products are more expensive. Cheap products create a throwaway society plus wasted time, of course Asia is pumping out garbage at an amazing rate, but I pay more for quality and don't have to spend time replacing garbage every year. I encased the wiring in a detachable plastic wire tube. The reverse light power wire is also crimped to ensure correct DOT recommendations. This is a good "cheap" camera for the price, NOT great, but at the cost of wasting time and money. 5 STARS for customer service. 2 STARS for quality. Maybe the camera would have lasted longer in a dry climate.(See review above) I bought this camera last year in March and after a winter it's almost invisible as the "quality" of the camera is not high -The ultimate rear camera If you leave your car in the garage, that's not a problem, but if it's exposed to the elements, forget it.
