I have a small 20 pound chihuahua labrador mix and she has a thin neck. I had previously bought another soft leash but this had a leash attachment at the front of the neck, not behind the head and my dog would just pull it off his snout. With this gentle lead she can't because the leash is attached behind her head. But even the smallest collar wasn't small enough for my dog to slip out. I found the perfect solution using this soft leash and clipping the leash extenders under her harness and now she can't slip out of the collar as it is also connected to her harness! She is not injured, but now she chases after another dog on walks. She doesn't bark or growl at other dogs, she doesn't pull or try to run after things. It is wonderful.
