This bag has proven to be durable, comfortable and versatile. Although it's a large bag, I use it as my everyday bag. Most days I carry around a small binder, a book or two, a padded SLR from another bag, lots of pens, a notebook, a makeup kit, a large wallet, and a large phone. Sometimes I add an iPad and sometimes a laptop. The bag holds all these things very conveniently. It can get really heavy when I'm loading so many things, but the US Post Office Domke 725-031 shoulder pad I added makes the strap that much more comfortable. When the bag is fully loaded I usually wear the strap across my body and that helps distribute the weight. I live in a high crime city and the security features of the bag give me extra peace of mind. The two features I use the most are the ability to zip up so no one can open the bag unnoticed and the ability to unbuckle the belt and then re-attach it to a chair (e.g. in a restaurant). The main downside for me is the external pocket which zips down the bottom so you can slide it over the handle of a trolley case. Since I don't use this bag when traveling, I would have liked a more secure outside pocket. Be that as it may, I don't like putting anything valuable in this bag (e.g. a phone) because I'm afraid that the zipper will open unnoticed and the contents of the bag will fall out. Too bad because this outside pocket is easy to access and ideal for items that are used frequently.
