Review on Kensington Slim Wireless Keyboard K72344US by Christine Smith

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Quieter, but not completely quiet - enough for now!

I was looking for a QUIET wired keyboard because I work from home and often have conferences where I need to type - keyboard clicks are very annoying! I didn't want wifi because I never forget to charge it (although the batteries might be ok). It took me a long time to find a truly quiet keyboard, I tried at least 10 keyboards that claimed to be quiet or silent but weren't. It's been a nasty quest! Although the keys on this keyboard are laid out a little differently than what I'm used to, I thought it was worth using it for a while to see if I could get used to the keyboard layout - I have, so this is it the right one I went on. It's not 100% quiet though, it's a lot quieter than any other keyboard that claims to be quiet/silent that I've tried. In fact, my 9-year-old son walked into my office one day and noticed that my typing wasn't waking him up (as it usually does in the morning). It's a pleasure to type on this keyboard - I feel like I type faster and my fingers don't get as tired. I will order another one for the office to be there on rare occasions, I have the same keyboard! It's fairly thin - I had to find a palm rest, which wasn't what I think it was, so my fingers didn't have to drag down when typing. have to work so hard) Cons: The keyboard layout is not typical - it took about 2 weeks to really get used to it. I would give 5 stars if the layout was typical. Maybe one day someone will build a really quiet keyboard (obviously your fingers/nails will make noise but otherwise they will be quiet), but until then this keyboard will work great.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Makes me nervous
