It was exactly what I was looking for. I have speakers with a 3.5mm plug plugged into a USB-C hub on the back of my desk. This works on my laptop and it works great. However, now with online courses, I prefer to listen to my lectures through headphones. To do this, I have to go to my desk and turn off the speakers to listen through my headphones, which I plug into the headphone jack on my laptop. It's tiring and allows me to sit next to the computer. With this extension and splitter installed right in front of my desk, I don't have to unplug anything and can leave both speakers on and off to just hear through my headset.
