Last year I started wearing full face helmets again when riding my motorcycle with a lightweight, moisture wicking balaclava between my head. and the inside of the helmet makes the ride much more comfortable. It also makes putting the helmet on much easier as my ears don't fold over or sit in an awkward spot, and it's easier to adjust the helmet overall. This balaclava initially feels like it's going to be too tight, but it stretches and stretches just fine. very comfortable all day and the helmet ventilation seems to work better allowing the rider to feel the cooling air flow through the helmet. I wear HJC RPHA 70 ST and even on the hottest days it stays cool inside thanks to this balaclava. Another key benefit? The inside of the helmet seems to smell much less often. Even after numerous rides throughout the day, the inside of the helmet still smells like new. However, I was supposed to record the part about how those balaclavas stank when I opened the plastic bags they were packaged in. My living room smelled like a lot of heating oil had been spilled. The odor was so strong that it caused headaches and nausea. I had to hang both balaclavas outside for three days to smell to the point where I felt like I could wash the balaclavas through the laundry. I was afraid that if I put them in the washing machine right away, everything else in the washing machine would start to smell too. Hoping it was just an accident with my order, but who knows? Otherwise, I recommend this balaclava for rides in warmer times as it aims to make the ride more comfortable and comfortable.
