Review on ☕ Cook N Home 8-Cup Stainless Steel Stovetop Percolator Coffee Pot Kettle, Tea by Tammy Kaiser

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Too much coffee grounds!

Bought a Farberware Yosemite Perculator to replace the coffee pot as the handle snapped off (luckily it came off in the wash, not when I was pouring boiling hot coffee)! There are two things I don't like about this pot: first and foremost, the inner lid that fits over the basket has a rim that rests on the basket and during the steeping process the lid has to come off the basket because there's a lot of coffee grounds in the coffee . To prevent this, I made a very slow perk. Did not help! I've always put paper filters at the bottom of the basket, so I've tried putting one on both the coffee grounds and the bottom. Did not help! Finally, I took the basket and lid from the Farberware pot (I'm glad I kept them) and used them with this pot. EUREKA! Another thing I didn't like about this kettle is the attached lid. Inconvenient when cleaning the pot and difficult to drain after washing (I used to turn an old coffee pot upside down to drain the water). I'm afraid the lid might warp if I do this, so I wash, rinse and dry immediately. It takes a little longer. I prefer the removable lid (that's just MY preference of course). Two things I love about this pot are that the interior bottom is smooth while the Farberware pot has a rib around the perimeter and is difficult to clean. I also like that the handle is away from a heat source (I have a gas stove, so an open flame was used to heat the handle of my Farberware pot. I'm only giving those two stars because the coffee grounds issue is a deal breaker ). my enemy!
