These are very good quality cables for the price. Very reliable feel compared to many more expensive cables. I'm not sure what some of the other reviewers experienced, but everyone should understand that these are *optical interconnect cables*. They don't convert a 3.5mm stereo electrical device (e.g. an iPod) to an optical output, they connect devices with a 3.5mm *optical* mini TOSLINK connector to another TOSLINK device . Some of these devices also include an electrical connector in the same mount, but if you look at it if it's working and you don't see the red light from the optical driver, it's most likely just an old electrical connector and it won't work with it.
