I wanted to try the ratchet strap but didn't want to spend $40 at the store. Took a chance and bought it and the quality is way better than expected. The buckle is strong and durable metal. No plastic parts. The belt fits easily. Warning: once you've put the strap on, to loosen it you have to pull it like you're trying to tighten it a little, but not so much that you snap it to the next notch. Then click the unlock button. It's hard to describe, but you must release the tension on the buckle mechanism before attempting to use the release button on the buckle. It's not difficult once you get it down. Overall a great product.
