Best fall apart for men

This is a beautiful bolo tie and garnet is my birthstone. I was hoping to wear it to a wedding but when I tried to adjust it the whole stone arrangement fell off. It looks like it was badly glued with hot glue. There is room on the sliding mechanism for a set screw that may have been forgotten. If not, then there must be one.
