Review on Audio-Technica ANC7b-SViS QuietPoint Noise-Cancelling Headphones with In-Line Mic and Control by Frankie Wesley

The in-ear headphones fell apart

Bought for home use. Audio Technica has been a trusted brand since I was a child. They ensure a snug and comfortable fit. The noise cancellation significantly reduced the noise of the lawn mower. The sound quality when listening to podcasts was pretty good. After about six months of regular use - once a week - the faux leather started to separate from the foam rubber. This had no noticeable effect on the sound quality. Another month and most of the internal fabric has peeled away from the inside of the headphones, exposing the foam insert. I also noticed a crackling sound, as if the wire shorted out at random times. The crackling sound was often accompanied by approximately 90% attenuation of the sound on one side, resulting in a feeling of nausea, as if one ear were plugged with water. Aside from the above, they still work, but I only use them when they're not powered, primarily as noise-cancelling headphones, which you can buy at the China Harbor Store for $9.99. I replaced them with SONY noise isolating earbuds for 1/4 the price and they outperformed Audio Technica in every way. Overall I would not recommend them.
